The conservation and enhancement of the high quality and internationally significant coastline through sensitive and integrated management.

Develop greater integration between marine and terrestrial planning Ensure SW Coast Path is available as a continuous route for accessing the coast.

Support a ‘no active intervention’ approach to coastal management wherever possible. Shoreline management should work with natural physical processes, adopt “soft engineering solutions”, and realign coastal infrastructure to more sustainable locations where there is space to accommodate it.

Seek improvements to coastal sites damaged by past poor quality development or intensive recreational pressure.

Support and Develop initiatives to conserve and enhance the coastal and marine landscape/seascape and our understanding of it.

Ensure that offshore and inshore developments are fully evaluated for any adverse impacts on the AONB by use of a tool such as Seascape Assessment.
