Another View

Another View: an exhibition of landscape images from South West England will be spending most of 2007 touring the offices of Natural England in the region.

July 5th - Aug 14th     Westbury on Tyrm, Bristol

Aug 14 - Sept             Renslade House, Exeter

Sept - Oct                   Riverside Chambers, Taunton

The photographs from the most beautiful parts of the South West are being taken on tour as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the wide-ranging importance of the region’s finest landscapes.

The exhibition, titled ANOTHER VIEW, features photographs taken in the South West’s 12 complete Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), to show the lifestyles and livelihoods they support and their challenges.

Protected landscapes cover more than a third of the South West, taking in two National Parks, 60% of England’s Heritage Coast and, with the Jurassic Coast of East Devon/Dorset, Britain’s first natural World Heritage Site as well as coastal and inland AONBs. Together, the landscapes make a vital contribution to the quality of local life and, through tourism, farming, fishing, forestry and related work, to the strength of the regional economy.

Photographers featured in the exhibition are:

Chris Chapman (who worked in the Tamar Valley AONB)
Simon Cook (Cornwall South and Isles of Scilly)
Ian Dalgliesh (East Devon and Dorset)
Ted Giffords (Tamar Valley)
Paul Glendell (North Devon and Cornwall North)
Graham Parish (Mendip Hills and Quantock Hills)
Clare Pawley (South Devon)
Pauline Rook (Blackdown Hills)
Nick Smith (Cranborne Chase & West Wiltshire Downs)
Nick Turner (Cotswolds)
